Evelyn Ebert, 71, of Hettinger, N.D. passed away at the West River Regional Medical Center in Hettinger, N.D. on Feb. 19, 2014.

Memorial service for Evelyn was held Thursday, Feb. 27, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Hettinger, N.D. Pastor Paul Lindt and Rev. Richard Wyman will officiate. Special Music was provided by Betty Svihovec, Ada Jean Cornella and vocalist, Holly Wyman.

Evelyn Mavis (Evenson) Ebert, was born June 7, 1942 to Arvin and Bobby (Potter) Evenson in Hettinger. Evelyn attended Hettinger Public School.

On Sept. 24, 1964 Evelyn married Jim Ebert to which three sons were born, Steve, Tim and Carl.

In 1969 the family moved to Billings, Mont. where they started raising their three sons, after which the family moved back to Hettinger in 1975 in order for the family to be closer to their hometown. Evelyn spent some time in Alaska, driving truck with Jim while the Alaskan Pipeline was built.

After their kids graduated from high school they moved to Billings, where Evelyn worked various jobs. In 2006 Jim and Evelyn moved back to Hettinger, to live closer to their children and grandchildren

Evelyn shared many childhood memories in Hettinger with brothers, Bob, Butch, and sister Sharon.

Evelyn looked forward to Sunday afternoons to visit with her niece, Deb Miller and friend Cindy Vik.

Evelyn has a vast collection of porcelain teapots, she was an avid reader any book she could get her hands on it was hers to read and she also loved to shop.

One of the loves of her life was her dog, Jake.

Surviving family includes her husband Jim Ebert, Hettinger, N.D.; sons, Steve Ebert, Hettinger, N.D.; Tim (Bev) Ebert, Belfield, N.D.; Carl (Heather) Ebert, Hettinger, N.D.; Daughter Patricia Meyer; brothers, Bob (Deannie) Evenson, Lambert, Mont.; Butch (Cindy) Evenson, Blaine, Minn.; sister-In-Law, Carol Pitney, Wamego, Kan.; son-In-Law, Tom (Fran) Ebert, Topeka, Kan.; brother In Law, Alan Snortelend, Rapid City, S.D.; niece Deb Miller, Hettinger, N.D. and friend, Cindy (Ken) Vik, Hettinger, N.D.; grandchildren; Rachel, Hailey, Gunnar, Heaven, Fynne, Lauren, Kit, Timmy, Pyper, Joslyn and Logan and numerous nephews and nieces.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her father Arvin Evenson; mother Virginia “Bobby” (Potter) Evenson; sister; Celia “Sharon” Snorteland; father-In-law, Emil Ebert; mother-In-law, Dorothy (Beard) Ebert; nephews, Lauren Miller and Charles “Charlie” Snorteland.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established by the family.
