With the sun beating down on Hettinger over the past week, the community is getting ready for the annual festivities at the fairgrounds. The 2015 Adams County Fair Rodeo is July 30, 31 and August 1. The forecast looks clear, but temperatures will be hovering in the late 80s and early 90s.

The weekend opens up on Thursday, July 30 with Open Class Exhibit registration from noon to 3 p.m., followed by registration and judging of 4-H Static Exhibits. Judging for Open Class will be from 3-5:00 p.m. A 4-H Dog Show rounds out the first evening of the fair at 5 p.m.

Are you an early riser? Come out and get some breakfast from the Adams County Fairboard under the tent on Saturday at 6:30 a.m.

Rodeo Slack and the Dakota Buttes Classic Open Class Livestock Show start at 7 a.m. with the judging occurring at 9 a.m.

At 1 p.m. in the Tanner Strand Memorial Show Arena will be the Friends of the Fair Dedication for Earl and Skooky Ehlers.

The weekend finishes up at 6:30 p.m. with the rodeo by King Rodeo Company.

Both the rodeo and the rodeo slack are NRCA and NDRA sanctioned events.

Cost for the rodeo will be $10 for adults, $5 for children and kids four years of age or younger will be free.
