On Tuesday, Jan. 19 Mr. History came to Hettinger Elementary and drew out the history of the Dakota Territory.
Mr. History—real name Scott Specig from Fargo—began with the Dakota Indians moving and onto how the railroad played an important role in the history of the state. He Ended his presentation by telling the students how Matthew Hettinger named Hettinger.
The presentation was 40 min and Specig used chalk to draw.
Students will remember how the histories like a drawing through time.
Specig travels around the state talking about North Dakota’s history and how individual towns got their names.
