They’re back!

Anyone driving down Adams Avenue can see something new hanging form the light poles, at least new from last year.

Banners advertising events, and community locations have been hung again this year. Purchased in 2011, the banners weren’t up last year because the gentleman that usually gives his time and equipment to hoist them up became ill and was unable to assist the city.

However, Gary Jahner and Mike Jorde were able to assist this summer season and the banners have been raised again.

The banners, which had an initial count of 23, were purchased from a company in Bloomington, Minn. The banners were guaranteed to last two years, so they have drastically surpassed the expected lifetime.

Each banner was designed differently, with the purpose of attracting commuters to each banner. The thought was that if each banners had all been designed alike, people would see one and not pay attention to the others, when in fact each banner advertises something different of Hettinger.

So if you need to know where the school is, or when Street Fest takes place, just take a walk down Adams Avenue and look up as you walk by each street light.
