Hettinger to host District 5 Babe Ruth Tournament this weekend

A year after hosting the State Class B Babe Ruth Tournament, Hettinger is set to play host to the District 5 tournament this weekend at Mirror Lake Ballpark.

A year after hosting the State Class B Babe Ruth Tournament, Hettinger is set to play host to the District 5 tournament this weekend at Mirror Lake Ballpark.

Starting on Thursday, July 14, eight teams will compete in the double-elimination format tournament. The winner will earn a spot at the state tournament in Grafton the following weekend.

Beulah is the No. 1 seed out of the north division, followed by Hazen, Washburn, and New Salem.

Bowman County holds the No. 1 seed out of the south division, followed by Hettinger/Scranton, Heart River, and Lemmon.

Games start at 9 a.m. on Thursday and Friday, with games starting at 10 a.m. on Saturday.

Admission will be $6 for adults and $4 for students. It’s a daily admission price, but the cost will get you entrance into every game that day. Patrons can see five games on Thursday and Friday, and up to three games on Saturday.

Concessions will be served the the Night Hawk Baseball Club.
