Producers Hybrids, a national seed company based out of Nebraska and selling products throughout the upper midwest, has really stepped up and helped the local Hettinger Country Club this summer. Local area Producers Hybrids representative, Kalen Manthei, has led the charge. He sees the value in educating and creating increased name recognition for Producers Hybrids, while at the same time assisting a local non-profit create revenue and enjoyment for our area citizens.

At the Hettinger Invitational, one of Hettinger Country Club’s largest golf tournaments of the year, Producers Hybrids sponsored “The Shootout.” Following the first day’s 18 holes of the tourney, Producer’s Hybrids put up $500 for anyone entering the Shootout Contest who could make a hole-in-one with two attempts each from 100, 75, 50, 20 or 10 yards out. If there wasn’t a hole-in-one made at the various distances, Producer’s Hybrids still gave out various prizes for the closest to the pin. On the last 5-yard chip, Mike Lyon from Lemmon sunk the chip and won $500 from Producer’s Hybrids. At the same time, Hettinger Country Club was able to raise $675 from the Shootout entry fees for attempts at each yardage.

Recently, Producer’s Hybrids was a sponsor for the 1st Annual HCC “NoMan Open.” This tournament, strictly for women, was held this past Saturday, July 23. Forty women from area towns enjoyed a fun two-lady scramble format the first 9, followed by lunch, and later a four-lady scramble for the second 9. Producers Hybrids was one of about thirty sponsors for this new tournament, which took the place of the “Barn Door Open.” Producers Hybrids supplied polo shirts, beanie hats, balls, coffee mugs, etc. for the ladies tournament.

Lastly, Producer’s Hybrids has forwarded $500 to the added purse for the “Bulls & Babes” Mixed Golf Tourney on Saturday, August 13th at HCC. The “Bulls & Babes” format is to sign up as a two-person, one male/one female team with alternate shots for the first 9; followed by a terrific beef meal from Kennedy’s Fresh Food; then back out for a four-person mixed scramble thereafter. Uecker Yards is partnering with Producer’s Hybrids, so there is a $1,000 added purse to this mixed golf tourney! The first 48 golfers to sign up by calling HCC at 701-567-2339 are in – you must register as a male/female two –person team before Aug. 12.

Special thanks to Producers Hybrids for investing in three of the Hettinger Country Club’s events. Our Board of Directors and members are very grateful for your support this summer. Thank you Kalen!
