With one more week left, RZ Motors is still accepting donations for their summer-long food drive in support of the Adams County Food Pantry.

The campaign began in mid-June and will finish Wednesday, Aug. 31. It was started to support the local food pantry but also to encourage community members to buy, and give local. And to save local too.

Part of the campaign, RZ Motors would discount oil changes in exchange for food items. For participating in the drive, the dealership was offering a basic gas engine, 5 qt. oil change for the discounted rate of $29.95. The regular price for a rough oil change is $44.95. The deal is still in place through the end of the drive.

If you don’t need an oil change, participating customers can also receive a 10 percent discount on all other parts or service purchases. Each discount requires a donation of at least five cans of non-perishable goods.

RZs is not looking for any particular type of food donation, just anything non-perishable, according to Kourtney Kindsvater.

He noted that you don’t necessarily have to go purchase an item, “grocery shop in your own pantry,” and bring some stuff down to donate to the pantry.

RZ Motors previously told the Record that they are “proud of this opportunity to benefit our local food pantry and we look forward to making it a big success.”
