Peter Ihle was born May 22, 1926 in rural Adams County, North Dakota. He grew up on a farm and was the oldest of four children. In February 1949, he married Davetta Thorson and soon welcomed their only child, David, in 1951.
Pete lived a joyful life of bartending for more than fifty years in Hettinger, ND and San Francisco, CA. Besides spending time with his family, he loved long walks, a good laugh and enjoyed going out to see the town. Pete was a avid player of cards and become a knowledgeable poker player as well as a big fan of pinochle.
Peter passed away peacefully in his sleep on July 19, 2016 at Creekside Inn Memory Care Center, Coeur D’ Alene, Idaho. He is survived by his son David Ihle, Hayden, Id; his grandchildren, Tiffani Ihle, Spokane Valley, WA and John (Christina) Ihle, Newman Lake, WA; his great grandchildren, Dante, Hannah, Kaiden, Neaveh and Logan; his sisters Juliana Skogen, Hettinger, ND and Jenny (Seb) Klein, Seattle, WA.
Preceding him in death was his wife of 49 years, Davetta in 1998, his parents John and Katherine Ihle, and his sister, Josephine Peterson.
Graveside services will be held at the Hettinger, ND cemetery at a later date.
