Mott-Regent had been rated No. 5 in the last 9-man football poll and R-T-H received votes for the top five.  It will be interesting how the next poll comes out as Mott-Regent was defeated by R-T-H.

The Night Hawk volleyball team downed Beulah 3-0 on Sept. 8 by scores of 28-26, 25-18 and 25-17.  Molly Holt led in kills with nine and Alyssa Andress and Brianna Robinson each had six.  Robinson also led in blocks with five.  Tayler Burwick led in assists with 13.  This brings their overall record to 3-0, not counting tournament matches.

The “C” squad volleyball team took part in the C tourney at Bowman and finished in fifth place out of six teams.  Watford City won the tournament.

Harding Co. is again having another good football season as they are 3-0 with a combined score of 154-22 over their three opponents.

I noticed while attending the junior high and JV games at Scranton that Scranton has added a new set of bleachers that are elevated and have more railings.  An improved viewing for fans as the football players on the sideline no longer hinder the view of fans in the bottom rows.  With more railings it helps us older fans maneuver.  A great addition!  Too bad Hettinger’s football field doesn’t have better seating.

Sports schedule for the coming week is as follows:

–  Sept. 16, Varsity Football at Grant Co. (Flasher)

–  Sept. 17, JV Volleyball Tournament at Richardton

–  Sept. 17, Cross Country Meet at Heart River & South Heart

–  Sept. 17, JH Volleyball at Bowman

–  Sept. 20, JH/JV Football vs Lemmon at Hettinger

–  Sept. 20, Varsity Volleyball at Bison

–  Sept. 20, Elementary Girls Basketball at Lemmon

–  Sept. 23-24, Varsity Volleyball Tournament at Dickinson

-Sept. 23, Varsity Football vs Bowman at Scranton

See you at the games!
