For The Record

I feel they can contend for one of the top four spots in Region 7. They have good senior leadership and some very talented younger players. I’ve seen them play twice and they are fun to watch as it shows how they love the game and compete with intensity.
Last season they finished fifth in the region with a 6-5 regional record and 17-17 record overall.
New head coach Ria Eaton is assisted by Katrina Johnson and Reba Resner. The following is coach Eaton’s assessment of the team.
“The Hettinger Nighthawk team is comprised of 10 players who each bring an attribute to the floor. We have great senior leadership from Taylor Burwick, Madison Warbis, Samatha Ruether, and Brianna Robinson. We have some younger players that have played varsity for two and three years such as Callie Anderson, Molly Holt, Abbie Kludt, and Briana Sanford. The rest of the team is made up of Alyssa Andress and Justice Anderson, and this is their first year of playing varsity. I’ve seen a team that has grown over the past couple weeks and are molding together nicely. They’ve had a new head coach and new offense to deal with and so far I feel they are proving themselves to be competitive on the court. We have some big region games coming up that I’m excited about. We hope to see everyone out to support us and thank you for already doing so.”
