Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) is one of the three components of Agriculture Education.

Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) is one of the three components of Agriculture Education. The other two components are Classroom and FFA. Justice chose to do hydroponics as her SAE project. She started researching the history and needed materials for a hydroponics project. She used a project done by another FFA student from another chapter as a resource. After gathering a supply list and cost of supplies she filled out the Ag in the Classroom mini-grant application and submitted it to Bismarck. On Friday, Sept. 23, the applications were reviewed and she was granted $250 for her hydroponics SAE. Forty of the 57 applicants received partial or all requested amounts. Justice has already started gathering supplies needed for her project. Throughout this project, Justice will be keeping records on an online tracking system of how much is spend along with how much time she spends on the project. She will also be taking pictures throughout the process of building her hydroponics project. The goal is to have her hydroponics up and running shortly after Christmas break. During National FFA Week (Feb. 19-25), FFA members will be presenting different areas in the Agriculture. Justice will be demonstrating her hydroponics project to all elementary students. This is an incredible project and I look forward to watching Justice learn as much as she can about hydroponics.
