2016 4-H National Youth Science Day

On Oct. 5 was the day that youth across the nation participated in the 2016 4-H National Youth Science Day experience.

On Oct. 5 was the day that youth across the nation participated in the 2016 4-H National Youth Science Day experience. Youth in grades fourth through sixth participated in the experiment after school.

National Youth Science Day experience is an exciting, interactive learning experience that engages youth in science, technology, engineering and math.

Drone Discovery is a hands-on engineering design challenge that explores the science behind drones and how they are being used to solve real world problems. Youth learned everything from flight dynamics and aircraft types, to safety and regulations, to remote sensing and flight control.

The science kit contained unpowered foam gliders and plastic propcopters that simulate a drone experience.  Youth made a FPG-9 Glider from foam plates and then learned how to fly their gliders.
