On Thursday Oct. 13, 2016 Terry was taken from us all too soon during a farming accident.
Terry Lynn Laufer was the second of five children born to Norman and Donna (Banning) Laufer.
Terry grew up farming and his passion for it only grew stronger with every passing year. Terry graduated from Mott High School in 1978 and went on to complete two years of tech school in Wapheton, N.D. On April 22, 1983 Terry married the love of his life, Donna Mattis. Together they had two children Jennifer and Devan.
Throughout the years Terry and his family went on numerous adventures whether it was custom harvesting during the summer, snowmobiling in the winter, or traveling the world on a cruise ship. Terry was very passionate about so many things and had a funny way of making you love it too. He always had a happy go lucky attitude and could turn anybody’s bad day good. He loved spending time on the farm, at the cabin, riding in the Big Horns, or traveling on the motorcycle. He loved to spend time with his grandkids, Will and Ashlynn.
He loved his family with all his heart, and although he may not be here physically, the impact that Terry Laufer had on everyone he met will surely be in every inch of our lives. To Terry, we will miss you more than you could imagine, life just isn’t the same without your smile.
Terry is survived by his wife, Donna, son Devan (Chelsea) Laufer, daughter Jennifer (Garret) Swindler, and grandchildren William and Ashlynn Swindler, all of Mott, ND. He is also survived by a special friend of the family, Kris Brunelle, Mott, ND; his parents, Norman Laufer, Mott, ND; Donna Laufer, Regent, ND; mother and father- in- law, Raymond and Venita Mattis, Hettinger, ND; four sisters, Lisa Jo (Todd) Messmer, Mott, ND; Jackie (Tyler) Austin, Regent, ND; Tammy (Dan) Markegard, Victor, ID; Penny Kane, Hermosa, SD; brother-in-law Scott (Billie) Mattis, Hettinger, ND; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, and cousin, Stan Laufer.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established by the family.
