For The Record
The Night Hawk volleyball team had a successful Senior Night as they downed Richardton-Taylor in three sets, 25-9, 25-16 and 25-22 on Oct. 25. The Raiders came into the match with a 1-9 region record and an overall 3-15-1 record.
The Night Hawks came out on fire as they jumped to a quick 7-0 lead behind the serving of Molly Holt and kept building on that lead. Holt also ended up getting the deciding point. They were saving many returns that looked like they could not get to strictly on their desire and hustle. Even though the remaining two sets were closer the Night Hawks continued to be aggressive. At one point in the third set the score stood at 20-20 but the home team put it away after that to complete the sweep. The Raiders hurt themselves in that final set by failing to serve the ball over the net too many times.
The victory kept the Night Hawks in second place with one remaining region game against Bowman at Bowman on Nov. 1. Although Bowman has a 2-7 region record, as they say, you can throw the records out when these two rivals face each other.
Both the Night Hawks “C” squad and the Junior Varsity won their matches by going 2-0 in sets. The “C” squad was victorious by scores of 25-17 and 25-10. The JV won by margins of 25-14 and 25-18.
Being recognized at senior night were players Taylor Burwick, Madison Warbis, Skylynne Cummings, Sam Reuther and Brianna Robinson.
