Lloyland W. Christian, 83, was born on Feb. 1, 1933 on his parent’s farm in Haynes, N.D. He passed away at home in Sun City, Ariz. on Aug. 14, 2016.
He was a lifetime minister sharing with those he worked with or someone he just met on the street. As a young man he served in the ministry pastoring for the Church of God in Peru, IN, Ryder, and Bowman, N.D., Tolstoy and Aberdeen, SD.
During his pastorate in Aberdeen he joined the Aberdeen Fire Department, he and Jean Moved to the Phoenix area where he worked at Sun Grove Resort Village, Happy Trails and the surprise Walmart. He retired Feb. 1, 2015 at the age of 82.
Lloyland married Martha Jean Wills of Baxter, WV on September 7, 1954 and they shared 61 years together until his passing. At the time of his home going he was attending the Sun City Church of the Nazarene. Those who knew Lloyland considered him a generous man, always eager to help anyone at any time. He seemed to consider the giving of his time and skills to be his greatest assets. Lloyland is survived by his wife of 61 years, Martha Jean, Sun City, AZ; his two children, Bruce L, Youngtown, Ariz. and Cheryl J, Gilbert, Ariz.; his grandchildren, Charity J Trotter, Pittsburg, Penn. and Bruce LW Christian, Aberdeen, S.D., and three great grandchildren, William Jacob and Teed Alexander Christian and his wife, LeAuna, Spokane, Wash.; two sisters, Deloris Huber, Lemmon, S.D.; Zola Finch and her husband, Lloyd, Lemmon, S.D.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, three sisters, Laura Almira Burl Christman, Illa Magnona Christian and Vallie Nadean Teresa Bishop and three brothers, Gaylord Albert Christian, Donald Harris Christian and Merland Lyle Christian.
