Dakota Prairie Helping Hands is a 501c3 Non-Profit organization with volunteers available to provide support and care to the people in the community that may be sick, dying, confined, recovering from an illness or are lonely and in need of visitation.  This organization exists to help make life easier for people in need or to provide support to their families through caring and helping hands.

The primary goal of Dakota Prairie Helping Hands is to provide physical, emotional, and spiritual support for individuals and their families in whatever setting they are in, be it their home, nursing home, assisted living or the hospital.

Some of the services provided include visitation, short term light housekeeping, running errands, respite care for caregivers, providing educational materials, grief support and loaning out medical equipment.  There is no charge for the services, however, donations are always welcome.

The organization depends on fundraisers such as the radio-thon as well as grants, donations and memorials to continue serving the communities.  The coverage area includes Bowman, Adams and Perkins Counties so volunteers are available from Bowman to Lemmon and Prairie City.  Medical equipment is available in Bowman, Hettinger and Lemmon.

The Radio-thon on March 18 will consist of live interviews and testimonies of people that have utilized the services of Dakota Prairie Helping Hands.  There will also be information given about the organization and how to become a volunteer as well as various musical selections.  The broadcast will be at the KNDC 1490 station with live streaming to KBJM 1400 or on the web at www.kndcradio.com or www.kbjm.com.  Pledges may be called in to 701-567-2421, 1-800-825-1490, or 701-567-4975.  Volunteers will be available at the radio station as well as the DPHH office to take calls.  Pledges can be mailed to PO Box 65, Hettinger, ND  58639.  Coffee and bars will be served at the office located at 216 South Main Street in Hettinger during the time of the radio-thon.  Everyone is invited to stop down and visit with some of the volunteers and sign up for a door prize and turn your radio on and listen in.
