The following is an assessment by Coach Randy Burwick on how it went for ten Huskie wrestlers.

“Huskie wrestlers finished very strong in the last tourney of the club season, the State Freestyle and Greco Roman tourney. The Huskies entered 10 kids in both Freestyle and Greco Roman and the kids wrestled great in both styles. We started the weekend with four of our wrestlers having the chance to claim the NDUSAW Triple Crown award. To win this award you have to win the State Folkstyle, Freestyle and State Greco Roman style. Cade Warbis, Nate Dobitz, Cale Schalesky and Kyle Burwick all won the State Folkstyle tourneys earlier and now had their shot at a triple crown.”

“Nate Dobitz would win the Freestyle and finish third in Greco at sub-bantam No. 45. Cade Warbis would also win the State Freestyle at 128, finished third in Greco at Schoolboy. Cale won the state at 132 then won the freestyle and Greco at 145 to win his Triple Crown while Kyle won the state at 120 and won the state Freestyle and Greco at 132 to win his Triple Crown.”

“All of our kids wrestled tough all weekend long. Here are the results, Kyler Schalesky finished fifth in Greco and went 2-2 in freestyle, Cooper Guthrie placed in both styles finishing third in Greco and fourth in freestyle, Isaac Guthrie also placed in both styles 6th in Greco and sixth in freestyle. Skye Kramlich would finish 2-2 in Greco and 1-2 in freestyle, Nick Dobitz finished third in Greco and fourth in Freestyle along with Trevor Dalley going 1-2 in both styles.

We are very proud of all of our Huskies wrestlers and we would like to thank them for all their hard work, dedication and always trying to make the Huskies and Nighthawks wrestling programs tougher and better. Congrats to all and a very big thank you to the parents for giving us the opportunity to work with your wrestlers.
