The Hettinger Boy Scout Troop 45 would like to thank the community of Hettinger for their recent support in their fundraising effort for purchasing a new camping trailer.  During the past year, the Boy Scouts have raised over $8,000 for the purchase of a new 16’ x 7’ enclosed trailer for hauling their camping supplies.  The trailer includes a custom wrap including all of the Eagle Scouts from Hettinger dating back to our founding in 1930, as well a list of the sponsors for the trailer.  Sponsors for the trailer include the Don Melling Sr. Family, Johnson-Melary American Legion Post #115, Hettinger Jaycees, Hettinger Clothes Closet, Farmers Union Insurance, Adams County Development Corporation, and National Mutual Benefit.  Additionally, the scouts hosted Burgers-and-Brats and a Pancake Supper that helped fund the trailer project.  The Boy Scouts recently displayed their new trailer while serving Taco-in-a-Bag during Street Fest.  The Hettinger Boy Scouts meet weekly throughout the year conducting community service projects, working on merit badges, and camping approximately every 6 weeks, including throughout the winter.  The scouts leave on Sunday, June 11 for their annual 7-day camp, this year traveling to the Custer, SD area to attend the Medicine Mountain Scout Ranch & Adventure Base.  For more information on joining Boy Scouts, please contact Robin Shoberg (701-567-3518) or Christopher Schauer (701-567-3582).
