For the Record

Kyle Burwick and Cale Schalesky continue to improve and fine tune their wrestling skills as they competed in the Junior and Cadet nationals at Fargo recently.  They competed against some of the top wrestlers from around the US and it is the largest tourney in the US.  Kyle finished 5-2 in freestyle and Cale went 2-2 in freestyle and 2-2 in Greco.

Bowman repeated as the Little League tournament champs held in Bowman, July 19-20.  They took on Lemmon in the semi-finals as both teams were undefeated in the double elimination tourney.  They lost that game but came back to face them again and downed them twice.  Hettinger Little Leaguers went 1-2.

Thompson High School’s Calen Schwabe’s contributed 269 yards in total offense to lead the 9-man East football team past the West 28-27 in the annual North Dakota Shrine Bowl.  Mott-Regent’s Brady Wegh’s had a 45-yard run with 7:48 left in the game to come within one point, 28-27, but the West couldn’t convert on its conversion attempt.

Are you ready for some football?  Practice started Aug. 7 with the first game being a home game against Lemmon on Aug. 18.
