Reeder hosts classic car show

Car enthusiasts from the surrounding area came to Reeder by the invitation of Dakota Prairie Enrichment Center, to display their wheels at the Reeder Community Center. The 25 exhibitors came from Mott, Regent, Lemmon, Hettinger, Reeder, and as far as Sturgis to delight those that came to observe the vast array of vehicles on this beautiful Sunday afternoon. It was quite a sight to see the caravan pulling into the parking lot to delight the spectators with the oldest entry being a ’29 Ford Model T. Strolling through the lineup of classic and collector cars made for a pleasant afternoon, the tone was the same with all; total enjoyment.

The exhibitors were randomly drawn and awarded door prizes for entering their vehicles into the show as an added bonus. The area sponsors that so generously donated included these fine businesses from Hettinger: Runnings, Backyard Mechanics, C & N Café, Scruffy’s, 4A’s Car Wash. Then from Reeder we had Borderline Bar & Grill, Northern Auto & Diesel, from Lemmon it was NAPA-Dakota Auto Parts, and Pit Stop, and then Scranton Equity Farm & Fuel rounded up our list. A huge thank you goes out to each one for the gifts of certificates & prizes that they donated.

Along with the car show everyone was able to feast on the Burgers & Brats that were served by the DPEC Board. They served burgers, brats, and hot dogs that were grilled to perfection. Baked beans, coleslaw, and chips were added to make the meal complete and then to top it off dessert was available. This was a spectacular afternoon and evening with the Car Show and a wonderful meal, but most of all the enjoyment with the fellowship of friends.

Thank you to all for making this day a success, we look forward to making this an annual event.
