Junior High Night Hawks Even Football Record

In an offensive battle the junior high Night Hawks pulled out a last thirty second win as they defeated the Lemmon Cowboys 50-42. With about a minute left Cowboy Ryan Jochin took the handoff around his own 30 yard line and headed for the sidelines shredding tackles and outrunning the defense to score. The two point conversion was good and the score stood at 42-42. It looked like the game would go into overtime.

But the Night Hawks came back with a nice kick-off return and with Cade Warbis behind center he took the snap and used his speed to get around end and ran for the corner for the winning touchdown with 27 seconds left on the clock. Lemmon tried to get back in the game but a long pass was picked off by Warbis and he ran out the time.
Jochin is a nice looking athlete for Lemmon with size and speed who scored four of the Cowboys touchdowns, three on long runs. Riley Tenet had the other two TDs but he went down early in the third quarter with a leg injury and did not return to the game.
Warbis had a monster game for the Night Hawks as he intercepted two passes, one for a TD, caught a TD pass from Bradee Clapper and ran for another two TDs. I also had Connor Andress with two TDs and Tanner Defoe with one. Defensively I thought Warbis, Defoe, Andress and Tristan Pekas had good games.
