Hettinger has their royalty.
Voted upon by the student body, Ethan Dupper was voted on as this year’s king, and Justince Anderson was voted on as this year’s queen.
The 2017 Hettinger Homecoming Court nominees were king candidates Ethan Dupper, Isaiah Kludt, and Jarad Mattis.
Queen candidates were Justice Anderson, Reanne Cornelius, and Megan Ormiston.
Attendants for the event were Lydia Kilzer and Tyler Fitch.
Emceeing the event was David Erickson, who also crowned the king.
The event was held, starting at 6:30 p.m., at the Hettinger armory. The queen candidates were escorted by the king candidates and sat in a semi circle in front of the crowd. Erickson gave a brief synopsis of each candidate as they walked in and a rundown of the activities were announced for the week.
Following the crowning of Dupper and Anderson, the crowd was welcomed outside for the annual tradition of the lighting of the ’NH.’
A dance followed starting at 7 p.m. and everyone grades seventh through seniors were invited to attend. The committee also opened up the dance to all Hettinger alumni, young or old, to attend the evening dance.
