The Night Hawk volleyball team had it all going for them in avoiding the Region 7 play-in game as they took on rival Bowman Bulldogs. The Night Hawks came into the final region game with a 7-3 record and were on their own home court while the Bulldogs were 4-6 in region play. But when these two teams take on each other throw the records out.

For The Record
The Bulldogs took charge early in the opening set as they had 5-0 and 12-4 leads and went on to win 25-16 led by junior Ellie Stafford’s six kills. The second set went back and forth with neither team able to get more than a three point lead. But the Bulldogs put it together late and went ahead with a 23-17 lead and held on to win 25-21. The Night Hawks were now down to having to win three sets in a row.
The Night Hawks came back in the third set and they controlled it from start to finish to win this one 25-18. The fourth set belonged to them also with a 25-20 win.
Now it was down to the fifth set with the winning team only needing 15 points. The Night Hawks jumped out to an early 9-3 lead and seemed to be in control. But the Bulldogs still had some fight left in them as they stormed back to tie the set at 10-10 and later at 13-13. The home team got the last two points as Alyssa Andress put an exclamation point on the winning serve with a kill shot.
Congratulations to Night Hawk Carolyn Schultz for winning the “Prime Time Player” of the game. Next up for the Night Hawks will be round two of the regionals at Trinity on Nov. 6. GOOD LUCK Night Hawks!
