The hustle and bustle of Black Friday and Cyber Monday is focused on consumption and spending. So how ‘bout Giving Tuesday? After all, it’s the giving season and every act of generosity counts. On Tuesday, November 28th, beginning at 6:00am MST, Facebook and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (bless their hearts and their pocketbooks) have agreed to match up to $2 million of funds raised on Facebook for US nonprofits.

The West River Health Services Foundation is an accredited 501 (C) 3 nonprofit organization. And West River Health Services is hoping to renovate their Surgery Center, so even more surgeries can be done “close to home.” As everyone is tired of the trips to and from Bismarck, Dickinson and Rapid City.
In addition, Facebook will wave all fees for donations to nonprofits on Giving Tuesday! For example, if you give $100 on Facebook next Tuesday, November 28th, hopefully at 6:00am MST or shortly thereafter (because once the $2 million is raised and matched worldwide, then the $2 million match is over), you will not be charged the typical 5.75% fee for processing your gift. Therefore, your entire $100 gift (plus the match hopefully) goes toward West River Health Services’ Surgery Center.
So in a nutshell, early morning Tuesday, November 28th, please consider going on Facebook, then to the West River Health Services page, and make a gift to our Surgery Center. We have a chance at a 100% match of you do so early in the morning, preferably from 6:00 to 8:00am. Thanks4giving!
