The Lemmon Cowgirls and Cowboys came to Hettinger for their annual double header and the Nighthawks came out on top in both contests.

The girls played first and the Nighthawks pulled away in the second half after trailing 35-33 at the half and earned a 70-59 victory. The Nighthawks had a 14 point lead at one point in the second half before the Cowgirls started chipping away and got within three. The Nighthawks were led by Abbie Kludt with 18, Molly Holt 17, Briana Sanford 15 and Alyssa Andress 12. Taylor Drayton had 21 and Tayte Kohn 14 for the Cowgirls.
On the boys game the Nighthawks jumped out to a 22-6 lead after the first quarter and were never in trouble as they coasted to a 73-41 win. Carson Schalesky had a big game with 20 and Jarad Mattis added 15 and Tate Resner 12. Britt Oliver had 18 for the Cowboys whose record fell to 0-4.

The Dickinson Trinity boys basketball team downed Bowman County 67-40 on Saturday, Dec. 16, capturing their fourth consecutive Roughrider Tournament crown. The Mott-Regent boys basketball team defeated Glen Ullin-Hebron 66-47 in the third-place game.
Shiloh Christian’s Bartholomew Ogbu’s signing for college football with NDSU was scheduled for Wednesday December 20th.
