RZ Motors has been a staple business within Hettinger for more than 35 years and is very proud to be serving locals and members of surrounding communities with quality sales, finance, parts, and services with a high emphasis on customer care. Roland Zimmerman, founder, created an atmosphere promoting a sense of family and community that is still carried on today.

In applying the concept of putting people before anything else, RZ Motors has employed a dynamic team of vibrant individuals who go above and beyond to make sure that idea never disappears. Gregg Jacobson, owner, is thankful for his staff firmly believes in their dedication. “Our goal is to take care of each other as we want to be taken care of ourselves. If we do this, we can take care in the community, as we have for the past 35 years.” Said Gregg. His son, Ryan Jacobson, began his career at RZ Motors working his way from the wash-bay all the way to the desk of sales manager.

Kortney Kindsfater, general manager, feels fortunate that RZ Motors contains its roster of employees and services. “One of the things were most proud of is being able to employ as many as we do in a small town. And to have a business of this caliber here is not only consistent, but important.” Said Kindsfater. Having the ability to accommodate the area with all it has to offer and to bring the level of expertise and technology you’d find in a bigger city here, in Hettinger, is no small feat. Sponsorships, such as Ford for instance, evaluate sales at the end of every year to confirm their relevance at RZ Motors. The fact that there are more than one that continue to collaborate is a huge accomplishment considering it is located in a small town. Even if you’re the customer who comes in for that one oil change a year, you make a difference.

RZ Motors has been an established asset for several years now, but local business is never taken for granted. Behind the scenes, its staff is consistently putting in the time necessary to not only earn their keep in the realm of auto dealerships, but to build their trusting relationships between their customers as well. “We don’t do things because we have to, we do things because we want to.” Said Kindsfater. “We want to see our customers again.”

In this day in age, the internet has created a “right here, right now” kind-of world that has had a detrimental influence in shopping for a car. Kindsfater is resolute in standing by the old-fashioned mentality that the purchasing of a car or truck should be more of a personal, memorable moment in a customer’s life. The internet has removed most of the human element that comes with that process to a point where buying a car isn’t as special as it used to be. Technology has made it so easy to find something here and now somewhere else, but the business lost in the community could have made a significant impact to not only make RZ Motors even better but the Hettinger as well. The number one thing that keeps RZ Motors relevant is the expectation of local support. “Whatever another dealership has, we can get.” Said Kindsfater. “When you work with us, you’re not only investing in your new car, you’re investing in us and into your community.”

Beyond striving for the best in customer satisfaction, RZ Motors extends a big helping hand to several local events within Hettinger year after year, including school organizations and fundraisers. Not only is financial support provided, but man-power as well. Volunteer emergency personnel employed at RZ Motors are greatly supported.

RZ Motors is truly grateful to still be here after so many years and thanks its loyal customers for their continued support. They look forward to providing valuable services to the community for 2018.
