Rumble on the Red Tourney

The Nighthawk wrestlers went to Fargo for the “Rumble On The Red” tournament, Dec. 28-29, and did well.  In the varsity portion the Nighthawks had only three entrants but came away with a 34th place position out of 84 teams.

For the Record

Most of the teams were from Minnesota but North and South Dakota along Wyoming were competing.  Scott West out of MN finished in first place with 15 wrestlers and 186.5 points.  Rapid City Stevens was the highest SD finisher coming in sixth place and 125.5 points while Minot was the highest Class A school from ND with 104.5 points and 10th place.  Other Class B ND teams were Carrington 59th and 29 points, New Salem-Almont 60th with 28, Watford City 63rd with 24 and Beulah-Hazen 68th and 18 points.

The Nighthawks also entered 13 wrestlers in Junior Varsity portion of the tourney.  Out of 80 teams the Nighthawks finished in 15th place with 111.5 points.  Carrington was the highest placing team from ND at eighth and 158 points.  Foley, MN, won the JV tourney with 238 points.
