Hazen girls basketball team is off to a quick start with a 4-0 Region 7 record and 7-2 overall.

The Nighthawk girls and boys basketball teams will take on Bison at Bison on January 13.  As of Jan. 5 the Bison girls are 1-1 and the boys are 3-1.

Over heard at the Nighthawk Classic wrestling tourney:

  – Watford City is going Class A next season but their numbers for wrestling is very low with half of them in junior high.  One of the reasons for the low numbers was the start up of club hockey.

Moorcroft averages about 45 students in each of the top four grades and the population is around 1000.

  – Charmayne DeLong of Moorcroft is rated number 10 in her weight class nationwide for high school girls.  She went 2-4 in the Classic tourney.  She achieved that rating wrestling in girls only tournaments.

  – Moorcroft’s wrestling program has won the last five 2A state tourneys for their division.

The Classic Wrestling tournament was very well attended.
