Chloe E. Opheim, age 49, of Dickinson, ND, passed away at the Opheim farm northwest of Lodgepole, SD on Saturday, October 6, 2018.
Service of Remembrance for Chloe will be Monday, October 15, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at the Centennial Chapel of Evanson Jensen Funeral Homes in Hettinger, ND. Rev. Ron Nelson will officiate and burial will follow at the Hettinger Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the service at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 15 at the Centennial Chapel in Hettinger.
Chloe Elise Opheim was born July 10, 1969 to Robert and Ina Opheim at the Community Memorial Hospital (West River Regional Medical Center) in Hettinger, ND.
Chloe spent her early childhood in Hettinger, ND until 1977 when her parents moved to the Opheim farmstead northwest of Lodgepole, SD. Chloe started her elementary education in the Hettinger School District and finished it the Northwest School District – Lodgepole School. She graduated from Bison High School in 1988, and continued her education at NDSU – Bottineau, receiving an Associate Degree from NDSU-B.
Chloe was active in 4H in her youth, as well as a variety of other activities, including Concordia Language Camps (studying Norwegian language), and private music lessons. She enjoyed crafting, stamp collecting, attending auctions, watching and reading mystery books/series, as well as other activities throughout her life.
Chloe worked in retail and in property management for others, but spent many years self-employed in direct sales whether in person or via the internet.
While having lived in Bottineau, Minot, Grand Forks/East Grand Forks during her adult life, she had called Dickinson home for the last 25 years.
Grateful for having shared in Chloe’s life are her father, Robert Opheim, of rural Lodgepole, SD, her brother, Orson (Stephanie) Opheim, her niece Evelyn Opheim, her nephew Eli Opheim, her longtime boyfriend, Bill Picard, aunts Helen Hilsendager and Shirley Opheim, uncle Frank (Brita) Opheim, and numerous cousins.
Chloe was preceded in death by her mother, Ina Opheim, uncle Gordon Hilsendager, and maternal and paternal grandparents.
