There are no longer two winless teams in Region 7.  The Night Hawks, 0-16 and 0-7 in the region, squared off with Killdeer 0-15 and 0-6 in the region on Feb 5.  The game went back and forth in the first quarter and half way thru the second quarter.  The Night Hawks broke loose midway in the second quarter and took a 34-26 lead at half time.  They continued to widen their margin in the last two quarters and won going away 66-50.  Leading the scoring for the Night Hawks were Jeran Anderson 26, Warrick Dilse 22, Brady Dillon 10, Connor Dilse 4 and Jacob Dix 4.  Dix also corralled 15 rebounds.  Daylon Danks had 22 points for Killdeer.  Named “Prime Time Players” were Anderson, W. Dilse and Dix. 

 

The tenth North Dakota Class B girls basketball poll of the 2018-19 season was released Monday, February 4.  The Class B basketball polls are voted on by members of the North Dakota Associated Press Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association (NDAPSSA).  The Night Hawks moved up two places and received 52 votes, up from 46.

Team seeding and drawing for the 2019 North Dakota High School Activities Association’s State Class B Wrestling Team Dual Tournament were determined Thursday, February 7.  The top five teams were ranked through an online voting process by coaches of the participating schools with the remaining three teams being randomly drawn to determine quarterfinal matchups.  Matchups for the Class B Team Dual Quarterfinals on Thursday, February 14 in Fargo: 

 

1:30 p.m. – #2 Seed South Border vs. Hillboro/Central Valley (Second Random Draw)  

1:30 p.m. – #3 Seed New Salem-Almont vs. Velva (Third Random Draw) 

1:30 p.m. – #1 Seed Lisbon vs. Bowman County (First Random Draw) 

1:30 p.m. – #4 Seed Central Cass vs. #5 Seed Bishop Ryan 

 

Bowman girls defeated Trinity 39-27 to sew up the #2 seed in the region.  It appears that running back Braden Zuroff from New Salem has signed to play football at NDSU as a preferred walk-on.
