Bonnie Ecker

Bonnie L. Ecker, of Hettinger, ND passed away at the CHI St. Alexius Medical Center in Bismarck, ND on Saturday, May 4, 2019 with her husband, Bill of 45 years, by her side.
Services are pending at this time with Evanson Jensen Funeral Home in Hettinger.
Bonnie L. Anderson was born November 28, 1948 in Hettinger, ND to Martin and Esther (Komm) Anderson. She attended grade school at teh Fredlund and White Butte schools. She attended Hettinger and Lemmon, SD High Schools, graduating in 1967.
Bonnie and Bill Ecker started dating in 1971. They later married on January 4, 1974 and loved going to auction sales and collecting antiques. Bonnie worked at the Hettinger Clinic and Hospital, later working for optometrists, Dr. Kelley and Dr. Poswilko. She also helped Bill at the NAPA store doing bookkeeping.
Bonnie had a love for all animals, but especially her cats and dogs. She was always feeding and taming stray cats, of course they all came to be a part of her family.
Bonnie will forever be remembered by her husband, Bill, of Hettinger, sister, Pam Starkey, Hettinger, nieces and nephews, Kristin (Steve) Robinson and family, Dawsonville, GA, Minday (Ryan) Papka, Lemmon, SD, Hailey Ecker, Dickinson, ND, Gina Ecker Melgaard and family, Grand Forks, ND, Scott Ecker, Rapid City, SD, mother-in-law Irlene Ecker, Hettinger, sister-in-law, Kelley Ecker, Aberdeen, SD, brothers-in-law, Dennis (Carla) Ecker, Hettinger and Doug Starkey, Lemmon, SD.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, Martin and Esther Anderson, father-in-law, Jim Ecker along with her grandparents and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, Memorials are preferred to Soup Kitchen Rescue and Adoption for animals in Lemmon, SD.

  1. Bill I m so sorry to hear about this. You two hung in there for better or worse. I can tell you that time heals not much. It’s more what you do with it.
