On Sunday, April 28th, the Hettinger FFA Chapter held their end of the year banquet to recognize all of the outstanding members and supporters in our community.
For the Record
We had many delicious bars and refreshments for people when they came in, along with the display of many projects students created throughout the year. In addition, there was a silent auction of various items for donations to the chapter.
Paris Ross was this year’s Hettinger Creed winner. She competed in the Creed Contest at District Leadership and did a great job reciting it our banquet. Our first speaker of the evening was Jacy Hauge, the 2018-2019 North Dakota FFA Parliamentarian who gave an incredible speech titled ‘Take notice of those who invest in you’. Mr. Trevor Steeke, a former Minnesota State Officer was the main speaker for the evening. His speech told ‘his story’. Both Jacy and Trevor gave inspiring speeches that brought many laughs to our chapter and guests.
Following the speeches was our awards ceremony. The following are the winners of the awards, Honorary Award – Tom Arndorfer, Outstanding Senior – Mack Buckmier, Outstanding Chapter Member – Michelle Witt, Outstanding Greenhand – Savannah Hibberd, Discovery – Olivia Havelka, Top Salesman – Katy Schauer.
It is always exciting to install the new officer team as well as retire the old. The 2019-2020 officers are as followed: President – Michelle Witt, Vice President – Tatum Fitch, Treasurer – Kaden Schauer, Secretary – Katy Schauer, Reporter – Savannah Hibberd, Sentinel – Sydney Ellingson, Assistant Vice President – Samantha Munoz, Assistant Treasurer – Cade Micheals, Assistant Secretary – Ally Schalesky, and Assistant Reporter – Patrick Schultz. We thank all of the guests and members that attended our banquet and we thank all of the support we had throughout the year as well. We hope to see everyone again next year.
