The draft of the 2019 Hettinger County Multi-Jurisdictional Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan is now available for review. The draft is available on the Hettinger County, city of Mott and New England websites. A printed copy is also available in the Sheriff’s Office at the Hettinger County Courthouse in Mott.
A public hearing to accept comments on the draft plan will be held from 6:30 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, July 8, 2019, at the Hettinger County Courthouse of Mott. The public hearing will review the draft plan, results from the mitigation survey and public comments received. A Plan Update Committee meeting will follow the public hearing to approve the draft plan and move for submittal to the N.D. Dept. of Emergency Services (NDDES) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for final review to obtain approval. Once the plan receives approval pending-adoption, each incorporated jurisdiction in the plan must sign an adoption resolution before an official approval letter from FEMA is issued.
