The 2019 NDHSCA All-State Teams were sent to Statewide Media Members on behalf of the NDHSCA “Coaches Association”.

For baseball Shiloh landed three on the first team, seniors Canaan Fagerland and Shear Huntington along with junior Jaden Mitzel. Hazen Junior Isaac Doll and Beulah senior Braden Zuroff made the second team. Adam Zavalney, Park River/Fordville-Lankin, was named the NDHSCA POWERade Outstanding Senior Athlete. Brett Omdahl, Park River/Fordville-Lankin, was named the NDHSCA SUBWAY Coach of the Year.

Brooke Peterson of Bowman County made the Class B Girls All-State Golf team and was also named the NDHSCA POWERade Outstanding Senior Athlete.

Changes to 9-man football will be significant for 2019-20. This is how Region 5 finished last season and changes:

Post 115 legion baseball team opened their season with an 11-7 win over Heart River on June 8 at Belfield. Down 5-3 entering the top of the fifth and with the help of Heart River errors the Bears scored eight times. Mason DeFoe picked up the pitching victory. Hettinger’s Little League and Coach Pitch teams both won their first two games of the season over South Heart and Belfield.

The Hettinger Country Club held another successful youth golf camp, May 29-31. Camp Director Ted Uecker reported that 58 youngsters entering grades 3 thru 8 were in attendance.
