Hettinger Public School held its 2019 School Board Election, and the unofficial results have been tallied.
A total of 152 votes were cast and the results are as follows:
– Kortney Kindsfater – 105
– Joy Laufer – 9
– Scattered Votes – 38
– Joy Laufer – 78
– Aaron Roseland – 65
– Scattered Votes – 9
The new city school board representative, Joy Laufer, said that her platform for running was based on providing students extracurricular activities that prepare the kids for “real world.”
“… I was running to have an inclusive school that provides opportunities for all students,” said Laufer. “…I’m excited to work on the school board and to just see how other people bounce ideas off each other and work together to make [the school] a better place. It’s a great place now, and I think we could just be the best.”
Kindsfater and Laufer attended their first school board meeting on June 17th.
