Night Hawk Volleyball Wins Two

The Night Hawk volleyball team started the week on September 17 by beating Harding Co. in three sets, 25-21, 25-20 and 25-16.  Harding Co. came in with a 4-4 record which included a win over Lemmon and losses to New England and Bowman, both in four sets Alyssa Andress was on fire in this match with 16 kills.  Helping Andress in kills was Sam Oase with 7.  Talia Carter had 23 assists and leading in digs were Carolyn Schultz with 20 and Andress 17. 

Next up on September 19 was Heart River, one of the top teams in Region 7.  The Night Hawks prevailed 25-13, 28-26 and 25-12.  Two days later Heart River defeated Stanley who had a 2-0 record in District 16 in three sets.  Leading the Night Hawks in kills were Andress 12 and Quinn Mellmer 8, Andress had 17 digs and Schultz 16, Talia Carter added 19 assists and Andress had 6 aces. 

Six foot sophomore Taylar Fagerberg had a good match for the Cougars with 7 blocks and 6 kills.  Senior Afton Shypkoski added 10 kills and 15 digs.  

Head Beulah Volleyball Coach Brian Filibeck put out the Region 7 Volleyball Coaches Poll Top 5 as of September 19.
