A little over a week ago it looked like the winner of the November 5 match between Hettinger/Scranton and Bowman Co. would be the Region 7 champs.

Both teams were undefeated with the Night Hawks having only Richardton-Taylor (RT) left on their schedule and the Bulldogs had Heart River and Beulah.
The Night Hawks disposed of RT in three sets while Ht. River downed the Bulldogs three sets to one. Against Beulah the Bulldogs won the first two sets and ended up losing the last three sets. Scores were 25-21, 25-15, 26-28, 22-25 and 8-15.
The Night Hawks took care of business in the regular season ending match for both teams by downing the Bulldogs in three sets. The first set went back in forth until at six all the Night Hawks went up by five and never trailed in their 25-22 win. In the 2nd set the Night Hawks went up 9-4 and then 15-9 before the Bulldogs dug in to keep the set within one or two points. But the Night hawks prevailed 25-23. The final set was no contest as the Night Hawks jump out to a 12-0 lead and went on to win 25-9.
Unofficially Alyssa Andress had 11 kills and Sam Oase with seven blocks and four kills. Ellie Powell had 11 kills for the Bulldogs.
It was senior night for the Night Hawks and Quinn Mellmer was named Prime Time Player for the game. With the loss it looks like the Bulldogs will be the #5 seed in the region and will host a region play-in game on Nov 8.
